Description
What a shame. This wooden boat shell is all that remains of what was once someone's fishing boat and, perhaps, livelihood on Cape Cod. Now weeds and a few wild flowers grow up around the decaying hull. Across the stern the shiny, newer boats fill the harbor. This landscape image was taken near Stage Harbor in Chatham, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It is another beautiful, sunny day in early September, some think the best time of year on the Cape. The weather is still warm, the crowds are gone, and the beaches are just for you.
I am an exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains. I've even had a couple abstracts made into my personal cell phone covers. Please check out my Facebook page Doodleng Art by Sharon Eng for announcements and more information about my art.

Thank you for visiting and commenting, Marsha. The sand has finally taken it completely.

Yes, Paul, it is a shame to see boats just abandoned to rot. At least they can be memorialized this way.

Thank you, Betty. Unfortunately, last year the boat was pretty much completely covered and buried. What a shame. I appreciate the visit and comment.

Great find and capture. I love how you captured the ocean and sailboats off in the distance. Great depth. Nicely composed. l/v

You see beauty in everything around you because you have a lot of beauty in your soul. The world is precisely a reflection of who or what we are inside. That's why Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, "TO THE ILLUMINATED MIND THE WHOLE WORLD IS BURNING AND SPARKLING WITH LIGHT."

I don't know how I missed your beautiful comment. A little late, but thank you so much.
