Description
This colorful tropical variegated ginger planting abounds in south Florida. The normal coloration is greens, yellow and cream. In this version, I have shifted the color to blue and purple for an interesting contemporary, modern appeal.
Variegated Shell Ginger, Alpinia zerumbet ‘Variegata,’ is from the ginger family (Zingiberaceae) grown throughout the world for its attractive flowers and foliage. It can be grown in large containers as a houseplant or patio plant for a tropical effect or it can be planted in the ground as a striking specimen plant, or in masses as a bright backdrop for other flowering plants. The tuber is used as a spice.
I am an award-winning exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains. I've even had a couple abstracts made into my personal cell phone covers. Please check out my Facebook page Doodleng Art by Sharon Eng for announcements and more information about my art. This image would be a good selection for business or corporate wall art and decor or in any home.

Thank you for the nice comment, Anne. I do like to alter the colors in my digital work to see what happens. Experimentation is always good.
