Description
These colorful red cordyline or ti plants are enjoying some morning dappled shade on this sunny tropical morning. I was attracted to the patterns of light with the verticality of the plants and the architectural detail of the stucco columns.
The ti plant is native to the Pacific Islands and has cultural significance there. It can also be cultivated as food, traditional medicine, and as an ornamental plant due to its variously colored leaves. It is known by several common names, including ti plant, palm lily, cabbage palm. Although usually grown as an ornamental indoor plant in most regions, in more temperate and tropical areas, it is grown outdoors.
I am an award-winning exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains. I've even had a couple abstracts made into my personal cell phone covers. Please check out my Facebook page Doodleng Art by Sharon Eng for announcements and more information about my art. This image would be a good selection for business or corporate wall art and decor or in any home.
