Description
The autumn season is probably the most popular for tourists to the mountain region of Western North Carolina, known for its brilliant fall foliage blanketing the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Appalachian range with red, orange, bronze, gold, yellow and green. The area is abundant with beautiful waterfalls and many trails to encourage hiking and other outdoor activities. In this abstract image, the ground is blanketed with the rust colored leaves that have fallen from the forest trees. A path has been work through the leaves by the hikers and walkers enjoying the outdoors and nature. In actuality, this image was taken of some rust and paint remnants on an old truck fender. The original photograph was taken on 35mm film with my Canon film camera. I rephotographed the original print with my digital camera and digitally painted part of it with extra color in the tree tops of a couple trees to emphasize the autumn season.
This is an original photograph which has been digitally painted by Sharon Eng. I am an exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many of my abstract and semi-abstract works would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains. I've even had a couple abstracts made into my personal cell phone covers.
