Description
When I saw this old Volkswagon bus in Jerome, Arizona, I had to photograph it. Although the owner obviously had something to say and an opinion on everything, the stickers are also a reminder of all of his travels. Bumper stickers littered the outside of the VW van, but not all with destinations. Most of the labels were opinions of the state of the country or suggestive phrases - all created quite a colorful assemblage.
Like the Beetle, the VW van has received numerous nicknames worldwide, including the "microbus", "minibus", and, because of its popularity during the counterculture movement of the 1960s, Hippie van/wagon, and still remains iconic for many hippies today. Perhaps this driver belongs to that counterculture era.

Thanks, Jenny. It makes me think of the Johnny Cash song, "I've Been Everywhere, Man."
