Description
Follow a garden path in the south and you are bound to find azaleas. During the late spring and early summer, these colorful shrubs delight you with their beautiful blossoms in pink, violet, white, and red. Contrasted against the green leaves, it's a wonderful flowering shrub to plant in abundance in the southern garden.
This image has been digitally rendered with a couple different paint applications for this finished digital photo painting.
Azaleas are flowering shrubs in the genus Rhododendron. These beautiful shrubs bloom in spring, their flowers often lasting several weeks. Some newer varieties bloom multiple times during the year. Shade tolerant, they prefer living near or under trees as the summer heat in the south can burn them. The azalea is celebrated in festivals in the United States and around the world in countries including Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong.
I am an exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains. I've even had a couple abstracts made into my personal cell phone covers. Please check out my Facebook page Doodleng Art by Sharon Eng for announcements and more information about my art.
