Description
A hazy day at the Cape Cod National Seashore visitor's center brought a muted look to this image of the structure across the water. Faintly visible in the background is the shore.
The Lower and Outer area of Cape Cod (from near Chatham up towards Provincetown) is well known for its foggy days. The CCNS was created by President John Kennedy in 1961. It includes nearly 40 miles of seashore along the Atlantic-facing eastern shore of Cape Cod, in the towns of Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet, Eastham, Orleans and Chatham. From the deck at the visitors center, you can see this quaint building nestled among the trees with a wonderful view of the creek in the back yard and Nantucket Sound across the marsh in the front. It doesn't get much better than that, especially when the sun is shining and the sky is blue. But even on a drizzly, foggy day, it’s still a beautiful view.
