This wood stork was wading in the pond behind my home and decided to tell me about the one that got away. It spread its wings as though to say "I swear, it was this big"! This image has text added as a humorous caption to the photograph. It was created for use as a poster or greeting card for no special occasion - just for fun. If you know a fishing enthusiast who sometimes exaggerates his or her exploits, this might be for them.
The wood stork is a large American wading bird in the stork family Ciconiidae. It was formerly called the "wood ibis", though it is not an ibis. It is found in subtropical and tropical habitats in the Americas, including the Caribbean. They fly with their neck and legs outstretched but tend to perch with the neck drawn in, giving them a humpbacked appearance.

Thank you for taking time to visit my gallery. Enjoy the journey and please come back again. It is interesting to walk through my images and discover that, even back almost 40 years ago, I was intrigued by light, shapes, and color patterns. Back then I used a 35mm Canon film camera and I find many "abstract" images in my early work. Now I am currently exploring digital art, generally beginning with one of my photographs and seeing what new creations emerge. I consider the computer desktop my canvas and PhotoShop my paints and tools. I find, in my original and digital work, that I am still leaning to abstract. Although I may give a title to the image based on my vision, the interpretation is always up to the viewer. I always hope...
