This celestial image was created from one of my original macro photographs of some markings on a concrete wall. The marks had a circular pattern that made me think of planets. I digitally painted and enhanced the image to end up with this image of planets about to line up, called a conjunction.
According to Sciencing.com, the alignment of planets has generated superstitious beliefs throughout history. These beliefs range from predictions about great and marvelous world-changing events to a shift in the polarity of earth and the end of the world. The most recent prediction was that in 2012 a planetary alignment would occur including a hidden planet, named Nibiru, and a shift in the earth's rotation would trigger events such as earthquakes that would destroy modern civilization. The predictions were false, of course, however, as an alignment did not take place in 2012, Nibiru does not exist and, according to NASA, the rotation of earth will not be changing.

Thank you for taking time to visit my gallery. Enjoy the journey and please come back again. It is interesting to walk through my images and discover that, even back almost 40 years ago, I was intrigued by light, shapes, and color patterns. Back then I used a 35mm Canon film camera and I find many "abstract" images in my early work. Now I am currently exploring digital art, generally beginning with one of my photographs and seeing what new creations emerge. I consider the computer desktop my canvas and PhotoShop my paints and tools. I find, in my original and digital work, that I am still leaning to abstract. Although I may give a title to the image based on my vision, the interpretation is always up to the viewer. I always hope...
