Description
Whitesides trail is a popular loop trail on the Highlands-Cashiers plateau in western North Carolina. On this sunny early spring morning, I notices these interesting shadows cast by the rhododendruns along the trail. Unfortunately, it was too early for the flowers to be blooming.
Whiteside Mountain is in the Nantahala National Forest near Highlands, North Carolina. The 750 feet tall cliffs are the highest shear cliffs in the eastern United States. Geologists estimate the mountain to be more than four hundred million years old. The moderate 2-mile loop trail is popular among hikers wishing to enjoy the spectacular views from its summit at 4,930 feet.
I am an award-winning exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains. I've even had a couple abstracts made into my personal cell phone covers. Please check out my Facebook page Doodleng Art by Sharon Eng for announcements and more information about my art. This image would be a good selection for business or corporate wall art and decor or in any home.
