Description
Ixora is a genus of flowering plants in the family Rubiaceae. It consists of tropical evergreen trees and shrubs. It is native to tropical and subtropical areas throughout the world. Ixora grows commonly in subtropical climates in the United States, such as Florida where it is commonly known as West Indian Jasmine. The plants have leathery leaves, ranging from 3 to 6 inches in length, and produce large clusters of tiny flowers in the summer. Ixora are suitable choices for bonsai and is also a popular choice for hedges. In tropical climates they flower year round.
This bloom was such a pretty combination of bright colors, it had to be captured at its peak.
I am an exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains. I've even had a couple abstracts made into my personal cell phone covers. Please check out my Facebook page Doodleng Art by Sharon Eng for announcements and more information about my art. This image would be a good selection for business or corporate wall art and decor or in any home.
