Description
Dark storm clouds over the Grand Canyon brought patches of rain visible in the distance. This image has been digitally painted with a palette knife application and presents an array of shapes and patterns created from the buttes, mesas, and mountains below the dark clouds.
The trees along the edge of the canyon stand sentry to the millions of years of geologic history in this northern part of Arizona. According to the park's website, the Grand Canyon was granted Federal protection in 1893 as a Forest Reserve and later as a National Monument. It did not achieve National Park status until 1919, three years after the creation of the National Park Service. Today Grand Canyon National Park receives close to five million visitors each year.
I am an exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains. I've even had a couple abstracts made into my personal cell phone covers. Please check out my Facebook page Doodleng Art by Sharon Eng for announcements and more information about my art. This image would be a good selection for business or corporate wall art and decor or in any home.
