Description
The reflections and colors in the water can hide what's below the surface. This photograph of the Myakkahatchee Creek in North Port, Florida, could be interpreted as some large fish or monster lurking below the surface. It is actually just the colors created by the tannins in the water, the bright, sunny day reflections and movement of the creek (with just a little digital manipulating).
Situated in North Port, Florida, on the southwest coast, Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park is a natural area where Old Florida nature still exists. It features 2.5 miles of winding rustic wooded paths and trails, footbridges, an oak canopy with old, tall palms, and the Myakkahatchee Creek nearby. The vegetation and overhanging trees along the creek created interesting colors and patterns in the water.
This image has been digitally enhanced with a painting application.
North Port is situated between Sarasota and Fort Myers, north of Charlotte Harbor.
The sun created lovely color and patterns in the creek, which had water flowing from recent rains.
I am an award-winning exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains. I've even had a couple abstracts made into my personal cell phone covers. Please check out my Facebook page Doodleng Art by Sharon Eng for announcements and more information about my art. This image would be a good selection for business or corporate wall art and decor or in any home.
