Description
While taking photographs on a hike through Jelk's Preserve in North Port, Florida, I discovered I had my white balance setting wrong. I really kind of liked the cast the mistake created. This image of one of the rutted trails (created by the many wild boars in the park) has been digitally painted for an abstract look and converted to black and white.
Jelks Preserve is a 614 acre natural preserve with 8 miles of trail along the Myakka River in southern Sarasota County, Florida. The preserve has more than eight-miles of trails, including the 3.3-mile outer loop trail. There are side trails connecting to the other side of the main trail so you can hike shorter distances. Some of the trails go over to the Myakka River.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
