Description
While driving back to Hendersonville, North Carolina, from Cartersville, Georgia, my GPS took me an unfamiliar route. Feeling somewhat adventurous, I let it guide me. I ended up traveling along Highway 64 and the Valley River. I passed a number of river rafting stands and decided to stop and see if any pictures afforded themselves. I was delighted to find these dark, Zen-like, rocks in the quiet river and beautiful fall colors reflecting in the water. It was very calming.
This area is in the Western North Carolina mountains including the Smoky Mountains and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Blue Ridge Mountains cross the states of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, forming the eastern front of the Appalachian Mountains in the Southeastern United States. The cool, damp air near the rivers and waterfalls in the area give some welcome relief during the heat of the southern summer. Hikers flock to the area to explore the many waterfalls and natural beauty of this region and to hike the Appalachian Trail nearby.
I am an exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains. I've even had a couple abstracts made into my personal cell phone covers. Please check out my Facebook page Doodleng Art by Sharon Eng for announcements and more information about my art. This image would be a good selection for business or corporate wall art and decor or in any home.
