About Sharon Williams Eng

Sharon Williams Eng Many artists work in a variety of media. I began my art career as a self-taught photographer concentrating on light and form in the landscape or wherever I found it. I started wanting more depth and texture in my work and, with the inspiration of my artist mother-in-law, started working in collage and mixed media, often using one of my macro abstract photos as the base for my mixed media piece. If I had to categorize my style, I think "representational abstract" might fit. Whether it's in my macro abstract photography or my mixed media paintings, I usually need to be able to visualize something from the natural world - a landscape, beach scene, forest, etc. Although I had a period where I deviated toward a more traditional style, I am returning to what I enjoy most now.

My page contains a wide variety of pieces, from straight acrylic paintings, to abstract mixed media, to photography (and now digital photo painting), both traditional and my macro abstracts. I hope you will find something that pleases you. If you have any questions about a particular piece, please feel free to contact me.

My work has been exhibited in galleries in the southeast and has sold to collectors all over the country. I currently live in North Port, Florida, on the southwest coast. I am a member of Art Center Sarasota, North Port Art Center, and the Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda. My work is usually seen at those associations' member exhibits. My art is also on exhibit at Creations at the Village at Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda.
