This perfectly formed pink flower was discovered on a vine-covered trellis in Chatham, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I was attracted, especially, to the shadows created by the overlaying petals backlit by the sun. I believe the vine was a type of clematis. I also have images of the lovely vine twined around the slats of the white trellis. But this close up best displays the delicacy of the petals and the power of pink.

I am an exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many of my abstract and semi-abstract works would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains. I've even had a couple abstracts made into my personal cell phone covers.

It is interesting to walk through my images and discover that, even back almost 40 years ago, I was intrigued by light, shapes, and color patterns. Back then I used a 35mm Canon film camera and I find many "abstract" images in my early work. Now I am currently exploring digital art, generally beginning with one of my photographs and seeing what new creations emerge. I consider the computer desktop my canvas and PhotoShop my paints and tools. I find, in my original and digital work, that I am still leaning to abstract. Although I may give a title to the image based on my vision, the interpretation is always up to the viewer. I always hope...
