Artist's Description

This colorful flower bouquet still life is an original acrylic mixed media painting that incorporates various patterns of art papers and impasto palette knife painting to develop a lot of texture in the background and flower blooms. These blooms are based on many large blooms I've seen, but no particular flower. I wanted an arrangement that had a tropical influence so I brought in various bright oranges and reds along with the white and bright blue-purple blooms. The filler includes various shapes of greenery and baby's breath. No bouquet is complete in my mind without a few daisy-like flowers. The red at the base could be a container or a tabletop with the vase covered by all the blooms and ivy. This painting will give you fresh flowers all year long and they will never wilt or die.

This image would also make a nice cover for a greeting card for special occasions, such as Mother's Day, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and more. The inside of the card can be customiz...

It is interesting to walk through my images and discover that, even back almost 40 years ago, I was intrigued by light, shapes, and color patterns. Back then I used a 35mm Canon film camera and I find many "abstract" images in my early work. Now I am currently exploring digital art, generally beginning with one of my photographs and seeing what new creations emerge. I consider the computer desktop my canvas and PhotoShop my paints and tools. I find, in my original and digital work, that I am still leaning to abstract. Although I may give a title to the image based on my vision, the interpretation is always up to the viewer. I always hope...
