Artist's Description
While visiting the Peace River Wildlife Center in Punta Gorda, Florida, I found some markings on one of the shoreline trees I found interesting. I took a macro photograph, cropped it, and thought the resulting image was an intriguing abstract. The long vertical marks and green tinges of color made me conjour up a forest and tree branches. Please feel free to conjour up your own intrepretation of the image if you need one.
Veterinarian Dr. Jerry Gingerich, who was also President of the local chapter of the Audubon Society, often found himself treating injured and orphaned wildlife which ended up at his veterinary office. In 1982, Dr. Gingerich consulted with Larry and Virginia Montaque who started treating the wildlife on the lanai of their home. In 1985, the Peace River Wildlife Center, Inc. became officially incorporated as a not-for-profit organization. According to its Website, since its beginnings the wildlife center has treated over 50,000 birds and small mammals...

Thank you for taking time to visit my gallery. Enjoy the journey and please come back again. It is interesting to walk through my images and discover that, even back almost 40 years ago, I was intrigued by light, shapes, and color patterns. Back then I used a 35mm Canon film camera and I find many "abstract" images in my early work. Now I am currently exploring digital art, generally beginning with one of my photographs and seeing what new creations emerge. I consider the computer desktop my canvas and PhotoShop my paints and tools. I find, in my original and digital work, that I am still leaning to abstract. Although I may give a title to the image based on my vision, the interpretation is always up to the viewer. I always hope...
