Description
In this Cape Cod harbor these boats lay at anchor blanketed by fog. Hopefully, it won’t be long before the sun breaks through the clouds and fog and shines on the harbor so these sailboats can sail out into the open water. Some think early September is the best time of year on the Cape. The weather is still warm, the crowds are gone, and the beaches and waters are just for you.
Cape Cod is a peninsula in the shape of an arm off the U.S. state of Massachusetts. It is a popular summertime destination for its quaint villages, seafood shacks, lighthouses, freshwater glacier ponds, and bays and beaches. Visitors can board ferries in Hyannis and Harwich Port to cruise over to the Cape islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Cape Cod extends from Provincetown at the northeast tip of the fingers to Woods Hole in the upper arm in the southwest. Chatham is located mid-Cape at the elbow.
