Description
The original of this acrylic painting is no longer available, but prints can still be made from this image. This colorful fall mountain landscape is from my memories of the lovely reds, rusts, golds and oranges blanketing the mountains around Western North Carolina when I lived there. The peaks along the Blue Ridge Parkway from Georgia and Tennessee into North Carolina and Virginia beckon tourists and residents alike during the autumn season in mid to late October.
The Blue Ridge Mountains cross the states of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, forming the eastern front of the Appalachian Mountains in the Southeastern United States. The Blue Ridge Mountains are recognized by their long, parallel ridges, separated by deep valleys and blue tinged color. The cool, damp air near the waterfalls gives some welcome relief during the heat of the southern summer. Hikers flock to the area to explore the many waterfalls and natural beauty of this region and to hike the Appalachian Trail nearby.
