Description
These colorful lobster trap buoys were spotted hanging from the ceiling of a shop in Provincetown, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, on a September stroll through that fun Cape Cod town. The display was near the front to catch the eye of passing tourists who flock to this unique town situated at the very tip of the Cape Cod arm which thrusts out from the Massachusetts mainland into the Atlantic Ocean. Provincetown is on the site of the Mayflower’s landing in November 1620, commemorated by the towering Pilgrim Monument and neighboring Provincetown Museum. P-town is known as a longtime haven for artists, lesbians and gay men. Numerous galleries plus restaurants, nightclubs, cabarets and specialty shops are clustered on and around lively Commercial Street.
