Description
While leaving the open-air shopping village of Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda, Florida, the lowering sun cast a light against the wall and this feathery palm frond. I was attracted by the yellow caste on the wall as a background to the green of the palm frond. I also liked the curving shape and the feather-like frond. It just seemed quintessential Florida to me.
The original image has been converted to black and white in this version and a watercolor paint application used for a painterly effect.
The Village is Florida’s unique combination of a full-service destination resort and a hometown hang out for visitors and locals alike. There are several buildings connected by breezeways with views of the Peace River and marina. Tourists and locals alike visit the Village for its restaurants and shops and to enjoy cruises around Charlotte Harbor the on boats.
I am an exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains. I've even had a couple abstracts made into my personal cell phone covers. Please check out my Facebook page Doodleng Art by Sharon Eng for announcements and more information about my art. This image would be a good selection for business or corporate wall art and decor or in any home.
